Press Releases
Xap Corporation to Create Statewide Student Service Websites for Colorado and Utah

The addition of Utah and Colorado Mentor™ sites represent a total number of 24 Mentor sites contracted or under development by Xap Corporation.

Los Angeles, CA – October 9, 2001 – Xap Corporation, a pioneer in electronic and Internet-based information management systems for college-bound students, today announced that it has secured separate contracts to design, develop, host and maintain customized statewide Mentor sites for both Colorado and Utah. These Mentor sites will join the 22 Mentor sites that are either live or under development by Xap. These sites, which will be located at www.UtahMentor.org and www.ColoradoMentor.org, are expected to be live within the next year.

"Xap's growth has been tremendous over the past year. The addition of the Utah and Colorado Mentor sites reinforces Xap's mission to make the going-to-college process simpler, faster and accessible to all students," said Allen Firstenberg, President and CEO of Xap Corporation. "There are more than 2 million students applying for college this year, and we are very confident that these new Mentor systems will become significant tools in helping Utah and Colorado students as they go through the process of selecting a college, applying online and paying for college."

Mentor systems, which are exclusively developed by Xap Corporation, are Internet-based, student-centered websites that provide students and their parents a simpler, friendlier and free way to plan for college, apply for admission and explore financial options for their college education. This year, nearly five million students will use Xap products and services. The company is the first to directly partner with associations and institutions of higher learning to develop regional, statewide, national and university-approved websites.

"The ColoradoMentor site is being developed with all prospective Colorado students in mind," added Jeanne Adkins, Director of Policy and Planning, Colorado Commission on Higher Education. "It will highlight our colleges and universities and accentuate what makes them appealing while giving students new ways to apply to our colleges online, discover financial aid resources and simply make the entire going-to-college process smarter."

"UtahMentor will assist Utah students in researching career choices and college options along with providing college applications, campus tours, and scholarship opportunities. All of these are significant resources students will need when planning to attend to a Utah college or university," said Chalmers Gail Norris, Executive Director of Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority. "This will be an excellent resource and we are proud to provide students with an option to help make their choices easier."

Students can use Mentor sites to plan ahead for university entrance and academic requirements, research colleges and careers, and apply online for admission and financial aid. Universities also benefit from Mentor sites by having a faster, more efficient and cost-saving method to process applications as well as being able to directly communicate with prospective students.
